It's always nice to hear the voice...

of someone you don't get to see all that often - but when you do - they instantly put a smile on your face.

So Brendan, you are just such a person.

And I can't wait to see you again!

< And I'm STILL smiling! >

For the first time in many, many years....

I put my tree up after Thanksgiving. I usually wait until the Winter Solstice to put it up. But I always had a tiny house and no where to put a tree. But since moving out of the money pit and into my new place - which is several times the size of my old house - I actually have a spot ready to go! So up went the tree and it looks beautiful!

This year I decorated the tree in stuff the kids made or their yearly ornaments - plus my regular birds and snowflake lights.

And a ribbon as my tree topper.

So here I am... waiting to see if I can endure an entire month of the tree in my living room (something I am not used to). But I bet it goes down within a few days of Christmas. lol.

Oh how true these words are!!

I feel my awesomeness growing with each passing day! lol!

Look what a friend found for me!

From the late 50's or early 60's - this old time " phonograph " will look amazing in pinup photos. I am so excited to use it.

I have a Pinup Party scheduled for the 8th. I think I'm going to try this puppy out!

Thanks Jim!!

Literature Fact

Louisa May Alcott: Most people are familiar with Alcott's most famous work, Little Women. Yet Alcott faced a bit of a battle to get her work out there and was was encouraged to find work as a servant by her family to make ends meet. It was her letters back home during her experience as a nurse in the Civil War that gave her the first big break she needed.

She was born today - November 29, 1832

WOW!

Thank you so much for all the sweet e-cards this morning.
I opened up my in-box and there were 19 waiting for me!
I truly appreciate you taking the time out to think
of me and yes Carla, I can feel the healing
vibes you're sending my way.. lol.

Thanks again!!

Thank You picture

After...

....... a 17-hour nap... I am starting to feel better. I'm back on my feet - albeit in pj's, a sweatshirt and slippers - and though I'm working in slow motion, at least I'm not glued to the sofa and unable to move - even to my own bed.

Still have a headache (which sucks royally) and my body continues to ache but I hope that goes away soon and I can resume my normal speed/ life/ day.

Until then I'm coughing into my shirt and trying to type this with the use of one eye (having them both open simultaneously adds to the head pain). Maybe a shower and hot tea will help.

ugh...

The flu sucks ass.

Status Update

MUNCHOS® Regular Potato Crisps

I am weak against the mighty chest cold bug that has ravaged my (upper) body. I have given in and decided to curl up with a box of tissues, a few packs of Alka-Seltzer Plus, the remote, a big bottle of diet 7-Up, and for good measure, the oh-so deliciousness that is Munchos potato chips - which are gluten, Trans Fats,  MSG and onion free.  Goodbye cruel real world.. and hello Glee marathon!

My snowman collection. An introduction.

Yes. I love snowmen. Like... seriously love snowmen. I have a small collection (by my standards - because I want WAY more) and here's a few snapshots.
My mom made these three (two below and one below) plus  many others sitting in my living room. She's an amazing artist and has sold in lots of shops - including the one I previously owned. She's won awards for her work and once it made the cover of a magazine!

If you're interested in knowing more about my mom's artwork, drop me an email!

Just a few... who usually sit on the piano until the first day of spring!

Silas gets to show Deakin all about homeschooling

Deakin and Silas had art class yesterday. They had to go outside and sketch what they saw, then come inside and paint it. It was a great activity and they seemed to have a good time.

But I think they REALLY loved "gym class" in which they danced to the Wii.

I'm going to try me some

NyQuil -  The night-time sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching, stuffy head, fever, so- you-can-rest medicine - in hopes of knocking this cold outta my body BEFORE it knocks me straight on my ass... cause I feel it coming on big-time.

Night everyone.

Sweet dreams.

Muah!

Izzy Jean!

She found a dead mole in the yard... hence the second photo. That's her "Dead moles are gross" face!
I bought this outfit for her... which kinda matches how I dressed her mama when she was younger.

And some from the next day.

Couldn't ask for a cuter little grandson! XXOO

More photos after the jammies came on...

LOTS of photos!

I took a lot of photos. And I mean a LOT!

My youngest granddarling came over for a sleepover

Again... posting photos from the past few weeks. These are so precious. Ro is such a ham.
