ran across these photos the other day of me and Heather

I was going through photos the other day and ran across these pics of me and Heather at my first studio in Athens. We had way too much fun there... as you can tell.

giggle

Last night I was able to use a star finder app on my new smartphone. This reminded me of Brendan and I using said phone to try to figure out if one particular bright object was a planet. It was.

Life

 Scott and Jasper Bojangles napping.

Big, beautiful canvas prints. Yep. This is what my children are getting this year. This is my daughter Shannan and her family.

Jasper Bojangles is going to be 15, I think. He still looks amazing though. I have no idea what his secret is. He naps a lot and refuses to do anything. Maybe that's it.

Two sky pictures and a damn squirrel that keeps taunting me outside. He sits there posing until I get my camera.. and then he darts into the woods. Stupid squirrel.

Granddaughter Izzy, my Miss Maddie Mae under my chair - as always - and Molly... who has the cutest nose freckle.

What a wonderful morning!

Gettin' myself ready
Last night was so much fun!

Pizza. Meteor shower. Making wishes. Great company with a long-time friend...  and talking photography with an older man (BB's dad) who knows his stuff. No photos of the stars... unfortunately ....  because the sky was cloudy and I need a new remote controller for my camera.

But still... it was a nice night. Thanks Brendan!

Happy Birthday to my wonderful grandson Lucas!!

It seems like it was just yesterday that he was born and I was there to photograph those big, gorgeous eyes and super dark, thick hair! He was so beautiful and I was VERY proud to have him in my life.

Happy birthday Lucas! Nana loves you!!!

A bigger version of my favorite

If this is any indication as to how I'm going to look tonight when photographing the meteor shower - I definitely need to pack some warmer clothes and lots of hot coffee.

Hanging out with my friend that makes me smile to no end later tonight.

Excited? Me? Hell's yes!

Baby it's cold outside

Frost from this morning

By the time I put my camera down to change the lens, these were gone! Melted from the sun!

Of course, my favorite version is from the movie Elf

 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bp3UoqOkFJo

I LOVE this song so much, it's my winter ringtone.

I really can't stay
But, baby, it's cold outside
I got to go 'way
But baby, it's cold outside
This evening has been
Been hoping that you'd drop in
So very nice
I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice
My mother will start to worry
Beautiful, what's your hurry
And father will be pacing the floor
Listen to the fireplace roar
So really I'd better scurry
Beautiful, please don't hurry
Maybe just a half a drink more
Put some records on while I pour
The neighbors might think
Baby, it's bad out there
Say, what's in this drink
No cabs to be had out there
I wish I knew how
Your eyes are like starlight now
To break the spell
I'll take your hat, your hair looks swell
I ought to say no, no, no, sir
Mind if I move in closer
At least I'm gonna say that I tried
What's the sense of hurting my pride
I really can't stay
Baby don't hold out
<together>
Ahh, but it's cold outside

I simply must go
But, baby, it's cold outside
The answer is no
But, baby, it's cold outside
This welcome has been
How lucky that you dropped in
So nice and warm
Look out the window at that storm
My sister will be suspicious
Gosh, your lips look delicious
My brother will be there at the door
Waves upon a tropical shore
My maiden aunt's mind is vicious
Ooh, your lips are delicious
Well maybe just a cigarette more
Never such a blizzard before
I've got to get home
But, baby, you'll freeze out there
Say, lend me a coat
It's up to your knees out there
You've really been grand
I thrill when you touch my hand
But don't you see
How can you do this thing to me
There's bound to be talk tomorrow
Think of my life long sorrow
At least there will plenty implied
If you caught pnuemonia and died
I really can't stay
Get over that old doubt
<together>
Ahh but it's cold outside

Where could you be goin'
When the wind is blowin'
And It's cold oustide

<together>
Baby It's Cold
Cold Outside

made me laugh

todays sky at sunset

It's past midnight on a school night....

And here I am. Thinking.
Thinking about idiotic things people do and how those things can't be deleted or reversed or erased.
There is no delete button or instant forgiveness rule in which time heals all wounds.
They are there ---  permanently.
Emotional scars that fester when your mind opens the cuts and dwells in the memory.
All it takes is one event. One moment. One sentence.
One incredibly stupid decision followed by an even dumber act...
.. and everything changes.
In an instant. Literally... in an instant.
You could be madly in love or someone's closest friend -
you know... the one who holds all your secrets...
and it all turns.. changes.. on a dime.
And you're left hanging.
Always hanging.
Forever dangling.
Because of one stupid moment.
One poor decision.
One lie.

I work on letting it all go.
I'm good like that.
I actually work at erasing it all...
of tricking myself into forgetting -
not just the bad, but the good too...
because the good reminds me of the bad.
It's a vicious cycle... if I were to allow it to devour me.
Which is would.

So every now and then I give in... and I ponder... and remember...
and even wonder - was it actually worth it?
Because it would all seem even sadder if I were to realize that it wasn't even worth it.

But then again -
and this is only because I can be one hell of a bitch...
I honestly hope it wasn't.

Because maybe then, after I've long forgotten...
you'll be left to remember.
Always.

My daughter and granddaughter

I wanted each one of my kids to have their own family portrait - something done outside and casual. I posted Alex's on here the other day - and now this is from my daughter's day out. We snapped it super quick - in just a few minutes. The second one is my favorite and going onto canvas.

Why won't my grandkids look at me when I point a camera at them?? The two youngest kept looking in all directions except at my lens!

 LOVE LOVE LOVE this one!!!

Meteor Shower watching

This week is one of the best shows for meteors for the entire year.  We went out last night and caught at least 20 within 20 minutes. It was breathtaking!

Fascinating!!!

I hate getting facebook requests like this

Obvious FAIL at playing Facebook spy
Anytime you see this you should be rest assured that it's some loser out there trying to spy on you via facebook. The telling signs are 1) no photo 2) no friends 3) no activity 4) you seem to be the first person they befriended 5) no info 6) an obviously made up stripper name and of course, the biggest duh of them all, 7) they just joined 44 minutes ago.

Look... I get it. I'm an interesting person and although this blog pretty much tells everyone everything that I've been doing - you still want to know more about me. I understand. If I were you, I'd want to friend me too. But seriously folks. Don't be such an obvious tool about it.

Just send me a real friend request from a real account and if I like you - I'll add you! Geesh!  (And yes.. this was honestly sent to me today.)

Armatures.

The betters ones

 MY FAVORITE!!!! So sweet!!!

My son and grandson are such goofballs!!

Charleigh, Rowan, Alex and an ostrich

Getting a serious pic of Alex and Rowan was nearly impossible. Poor Charleigh. She tried.

Alex Andrews. Charleigh Shannon. Rowan Andrews-Morgan.

I have a definite need for speed

Yesterdays' photo session was so much fun! I love those marathon photo shoots. Clothes are flying, backgrounds keep getting changed, everyone is laughing. It really is a lot of fun.

And the photos are amazing! Can't wait to post a few on here!

I was offered the chance to ride a super fast 4 wheeler yesterday. I was exhausted.. but man of man did it look like fun. Makes me wanna go for a ride.

Maybe a motorcycle ride.

Wonder what Brendan's doing.... <she asks outloud to the computer... as if he can hear me>

Anyways... heading into Athens for another shoot.

Later taters!

Gonna make this rainy, dreary day a hot one!

Well... that's it for now. Heading to Shade within the hour to photograph some lovely ladies at an all day Pinup Photo Party marathon! I imagine we'll be making some men VERY happy this holiday!
