People need hugging and cats need hugging. It brings well being so for those who allegedly have no time to hug their cats all over the year, they have to do that on 13 May or on any of the other days when this holiday is celebrated. If cat owners want to show more respect to their cats they can do a lot more on this day, like organizing cat party, for example. Believe it or not, it is celebrated worldwide.
