Summer

And so...

I thought the truck broke a belt or something (ahem... the answer is no. It did not. It was my over-active imagination)... but still, Silas and I stayed in Athens for nearly 5 hours waiting for Scott to get back from Columbus and check it out. Here's a few things we did while waiting...  (did I mention it was 90 frickin degrees and my shoe broke?) ugh!

Family History

 Found some interesting info on my family.

My great great Aunt was Burnita Shelton Matthews who was an amazing woman. I really need to write a bio about her. 

She was a very important activist in the women's suffrage movement and was the first female federal trail court judge. Here she is (to the left) with Amelia Earhart. Just found this. My dad was super excited.

My beautiful sunflower

It is the sole survivor from my unsuccessful sunflower garden that was to be in front of my house.
So this one is quite special.
I call her Lola.

Chopped my hair off...

Well, about 7 inches of it. I'm trying a new thing - growing out my bangs. But during the transition phase of growing them, I figured I'd trim off the rest and trim every now and then till the short catches up with the long. Sounds like a plan, right? And meanwhile I won't have to straighten my hair. This is my true hair. Curly. Yep. I actually like it.
