Not so lazy Monday

Whew! What a day! Busy, busy, busy. Chores, spring cleaning, washin', errands, etc. I'm pooped but I'm not even done. Ugh! But it was a beautiful day though. And these old quilts looked so pretty hanging on the line. Oh! And check out this sunset. It was amazing. Wish you could have seen it.

How to make an American quilt.
I remember the movie Winona Ryder.
such a lovely movie it was.

How long does it take to make one ?
In the movie its the whole family involved in making it.

My Grandma Urie used to make quilts all the time. She usually made several at once, and way back in 1983, she was selling them for nearly $1000 each. She custom-made them for brides and parents to be, mostly, and she could charge so much because she was not only great at it, but she won many awards. If I remember correctly, I think she said she could complete a quilt every 4-5 weeks... depending on their size. I wish I was into quilting. She showed me how and I've done some work, but it's not something that has - as of yet - that I've wanted to try. Perhaps someday... well, definitely some day.

Heather, I plan to reshoot it but with both butterfly quilts and reposition it so the clouds/sky can take up more photo space. I was washing them, which I try not to do all that often because Scotts grandmother made them 20+ years ago and gave one to us as a wedding gift - and I thought it would make a great shot up there on the line. So I ran down the hill, grabbed the camera, but didn't like the shot because of the power line. I had lots of clothes hanging out to dry - as I do every summer, and you've seen that - so I couldn't move it. But I plan to take it again on another of the lines and see what happens. Quilt photos on the line seem really interesting... expecially since it's a family heriloom.
